Ikarii Canyon is a scenario brought to us by Hobbester. This is a unique idea for a park, with many steep

cliffs in which to intertwine coasters and other rides into and out of. The park has a seemingly simple

objective of getting 2500 guests into the park keeping the rating above 700 at all times. Already equipped

with 2 popular coasters, Ikarii Thunder and Ikarii Demon, with the latter being more popular, and 2 Ferris

wheels, you are well under way. The challenge I noticed in this scenario is not as easy as it seems. When

playing the game and setting up your shops and stalls, one may notice that there are no restrooms and

indeed into game year 2, I have yet to research any, so there may not be any coming. This becomes a

challenge in keeping the guests happy and park rating up without the restrooms. Also, it seems that the

scenario was designed with high guest intensity set, so the guests do not ride the smaller and less intense

rides. To begin with there are only a few coasters to choose from and not many shops and stalls as well,

so patience comes into play, and one need not wait long for a chance to add new coaster types. I may have

found this scenario to be a little bit harder than it is if it weren’t for money not being an issue. With that

point, it is fairly easy to add to the park, thus keeping the rating above 700 and building the necessary

higher intensity coasters. Also there is plenty of room to expand and build. I would recommend this

scenario to anyone new and old to build on. It is a good park to do what you want with and only minimal

work is required to beat the scenario. This is a park for those who like to build extreme rides

especially. Overall, I give this scenario a rating of 4 out of 5 screams! The only people who may not enjoy

Ikarii Canyon is those who are looking for a challenging scenario, and even they can appreciate the work

that went into this one.

It was Zentrait who brought FireWorm to our downloading pleasure. This is a wonderful twister coaster

that caught my eye by its layout and overall look. I was pleasantly surprised to see that it only cost just over

25,000 to build. That and its fairly small footprint make this one fit into anyone’s park scheme. And it stands

at only 95ft at its highest point and therefore shouldn’t be a height problem for anyone. Delving further into

FireWorm finds that this is a ride that will please park goers and park owners alike. It has that comfort zone

intensity of 7.6 that make those of high and low intensities give it a try. The excitement is a rating of 8.2

without any scenery included, and will only go up from there as you tweak it to your own personal style.

It has moderate nausea level which may find your path a little dirty near the exit,

but nothing that makes it a puke machine. Park owners, especially in pay-per-ride parks will be

especially pleased with FireWorm. It has the capacity to run 100 guests through every 2 minutes and pay

big money for it. The addition of an on-ride-photo adds to the earnings, making this one pay for itself in no

time at all. My favorite part of this coaster was 5 of the 6 inversions in the last 30 seconds of the journey,

which intertwine wonderfully. With a rating of 5 of 5 screams, FireWorm leaves me wishing that it were

more than a fictional coaster.

Ikarii Canyon Interviews

Interviews by Toad (Toad24)

Toad – “What type of people come to this park?”

Earl G. – “I, along with all of those who come here, prefer more intense rides (9+).”

Toad – “What was your favorite ride?”

Earl G. – “The Ikarii Demon was my favorite ride, because of those two corkscrews that I took at 48 MPH. But my friend, Klaus K. puked after he got off the ride because it was a little too intense for him. He almost made it to the emergency center before he puked. Handyman 1 wasn’t very pleased.”

Toad – “Do you plan on coming back to this park?”

Earl G. – “We like the park so much we plan to keep coming back every day for 3 years!”

Toad – “How was your park experience?”

Muss P. – “I like was totally mad at this park. Like I loved the rides, but I like had to go to the bathroom like really bad, and I couldn’t like find the bathroom. So I like ended up peeing in the pond in the like center near the entrance. That will like totally show them!”

Toad – “Did you enjoy the food at this park?”

Therres T. – “Yes! The hamburger from Hamburger Stall 1 was a really good value! It tasted good to. The hamburger made me a little thirsty though, but I figured I couldn’t find a drink stall. I ended up drinking from the pond near the center near the entrance. They had jets streaming up from the water so it was easy to get water. I hope they don’t put chemicals in there!”

Toad – “In your opinion how is the park doing?”

Park Manager – “Overall I think my park is doing quite well. There aren’t many complaints from the guests (after I put bathrooms and drink stalls in of course!), and the mountains were constructed in a neat way. Also what amazes me about the canyon is that when it rains, the canyon doesn’t fill up with water. I think that is very cool! I just wish the contractors would have told me that this 100x100 block of land that I bought would have about 6 squares of land in the upper left corner from my entrance that I couldn’t own! I started building a coaster, and I ran into this problem that I didn’t own the land back there. Unfortunately, because of the way I built the coaster it had to use those blocks of land. But the stingy contractor wouldn’t give me the land! Not for anything, so I had to demolish my coaster that I had spent 2 years building.”

Toad – “Why did you put the two Ferris Wheels in the front if all your guests prefer more intense rides?”

Park Manager – “I…well…I…umm…I thought that they would…well I can’t answer that question, but let me tell you, that is the secret of the park! The very reason we are so successful. If that got out there would be many more parks competing with us.”

Article by B. A. Toad – Coaster Expert (Toad24)

I anxiously waited in the line for my turn on FireWorm. This coaster is very popular with its 7.86 (very high) Excitement, 7.57 (high) Intensity, and 4.59 (medium) Nausea ratings. As my turn finally came, I got in. I was in the back row.  We got up the first lift hill and I thought that the ride would start, but we turned back around and went up some more. I figured we would go up some more, so I didn’t expect when we were suddenly dropped down at the top of the 2nd lift hill. At the bottom of the hill we went into a large half loop, and then did a barrel roll out of it. So far the ride is good.  As soon as we got out of the barrel roll, we started going downhill-banked turns. This was good, but near the end the turns got tighter. That part made me a little sick.

That wasn’t it though, we then started doing small helixes up going at 55 MPH, that made me feel terrible. I wasn’t ready when they changed directions. Fortunately there weren’t too many helixes so I recovered from this fast. We continued our journey up. As we topped the hill, it didn’t look like I was going to make it over (being in the last seat). During the lift, the train had slowed considerably, and there were no chains that would help us. I fortunately made it to the top of the hill, but barely. That scarred me silly. We gained a little momentum as we went down a helix and then turned. The next thing we did was go down a short ways, turn and we went through 3 loops in a row. This wasn’t too bad since we went through starting at about 40MPH, slowing to 20MPH near the top, and continuing on through the next loops. We then turned while going up, and went back through the 3rd loop. I though my head was going to be chopped off by the top of the loop. I for some reason hadn’t seen the track going through the loop when we were on the loops.

I was so mesmerized by the person in the front row who screamed because she hadn’t tucked her hands in when we went through the loops that I didn’t see the barrel roll coming (but I did catch her bloody ring finger as it went by). I put the finger in my pocket, not wanting to get blood all over my hands.  As I got her finger in my pocket, we finished the barrel roll. Then went through a half-corkscrew, then a half-corkscrew the other way, and a barrel roll. As we finished the barrel roll, we went through the 2nd loop. Let me assure you that all of our hands were tucked down this time. The lady that lost her finger continued to scream, but the annoying part was the blood that kept flying back to where I was sitting. I told the lady to sit on her hand. She flicked me off as we got our pictures taken. That was one picture that I bought!  After the picture we went through the 1st loop, and the lady’s middle finger got chopped of because she was looking at me and didn’t see the loop coming. Being a Good Samaritan, I caught that finger also, as another yelp of pain came from her. We then turned went down, and turned into the station, as many obscenities omitted from the lady’s mouth. When we got off the ride I took the lady to the emergency center nearest to us and the sewed her fingers back on. I don’t think they got it right though because now her ring finger is bigger than her middle finger. Oh well.

Overall I felt the ride was excellent. The only part I didn’t like was the small helixes up after the huge drop. Being a park manager myself, I recreated this ride, with my changes in it. My changes gave the coaster a 7.98 (very high) Excitement, 7.49 (high) Intensity, and 4.59 (medium) Nausea ratings. It didn’t change much, but lowered the intensity a little and raised the excitement. In my change I had to make it 7 cars per train to work. One more thing to do to raise the excitement is theme around the ride (industrial would work great since it does have fire in the name).
